A rushed submittal costs more than time

Sending a candidate to a client usually means one recruiter, one CV, one client's format — copied and reformatted by hand, over and over.

How it's usually done today

  • Manually reformat the CV and interview notes into a Word document or email template.
  • Often 15 to 30 minutes per submittal. That is our estimate, not a measured figure; we'd like to time one with you on a call.
  • One client's format at a time, copied into that client's email template by hand.

It becomes urgent when a rushed submittal makes a strong candidate look weak and the firm loses the placement, or a client complains, just before the next batch of candidates goes out.

What we're good at

This is how ClearSubmittal works for pilot firms today.

  • One job, done narrowly. We draft the submittal. We're not trying to be a second ATS or a general chatbot.
  • Every claim points at its source. Each factual sentence links back to the line in the CV, notes or requisition it came from, the way the preview above shows. Sentences it can't match are flagged, not sent.
  • A person reviews every flag. The tool drafts. It never sends, and it never ranks, scores or recommends a candidate — your recruiter decides who gets submitted.
  • No integration project. Upload the CV, notes and requisition (PDF, Word, text or Markdown) during the pilot — nothing to configure in Crelate or Bullhorn first.

If one recruiter sends a few submittals a week and a saved chatbot prompt works, that may be enough too. ClearSubmittal is for Crelate and Bullhorn Starter/Core shops that want one set of client formats for the whole team, source links and flags.

    • ChatGPT Business is a general-purpose chatbot, not a submittal tool.
    • Crelate's AI Assistant is one feature bundled into the whole Crelate ATS plan.
    • Loxo's Candidate Submittal Agent is one feature bundled into Loxo's own ATS, which you'd have to switch to.
    • JobAdder publishes no prices; Smart Floats comes only in a quoted ATS plan.
    • Bullhorn's Amplify is only in the Pro and Max plans, which are priced on request.
    • CoRecruit is a call-recording and note-taking platform in which submittals are one bundled feature, and its pages describe firm-wide templates, not per-client format and tone or source links.
    • FormaCV and Candidately reformat the CV itself, a different step from writing the client email and summary.
    That competitor analysis (revised 27 September 2026) set our price at $300 a month at 5 recruiters and $600 at 20 ($1.50 and $0.75 a submittal). On 2026-09-28 the founder replaced that flat, tiered per-firm pricing with pay-as-you-go credits: 1 credit per submittal draft, sold in packs from $1.00 a credit (the 25-credit starter pack) down to $0.70 a credit (the 2,000-credit pack, with 100- and 500-credit packs at $0.90 and $0.80 in between); credits never expire and there is no subscription, per-seat fee or monthly minimum. At this reference firm's volumes that is about $160 a month for 5 recruiters (200 submittals, priced at the 500-credit pack rate of $0.80) and $560 a month for 20 recruiters (800 submittals, priced at the 2,000-credit pack rate of $0.70). ChatGPT Business, a general chatbot rather than a submittal tool, still costs less than that at both team sizes ($100 and $400 billed annually). Every priced submittal or CV-formatting tool in this table, including FormaCV and Candidately, now costs more than our credit price at both volumes. The Crelate, Loxo and Bullhorn prices remain for whole ATS plans, not an add-on, so they still aren't a like-for-like comparison with ours.

How we priced these: you buy the pack that matches the month's need — under 100 credits a month, the 100-pack rate; 100–499, the 500-pack rate; 500 or more, the 2,000-pack rate. Packs are bought whole and paid up front, and unused credits carry over, so each figure is the credits used in a month at that pack's rate, not what one purchase costs (a 500-credit pack is $400 and lasts about two and a half months at 200 a month).

Security and data handling

  • ClearSubmittal doesn't send email. A recruiter reviews and approves every draft, then copies it into their own email or ATS.
  • It drafts. It doesn't rank, score, screen or recommend candidates — your recruiter decides who gets submitted.
  • The sample preview on this page uses only synthetic, made-up data — never a real candidate, client or firm.
  • ClearSubmittal drafts are produced by Claude (Anthropic), running on Amazon Bedrock in the EU (requests are sent from Frankfurt and processed within EU regions), under API terms that exclude training on your data. We'll publish the full subprocessor list before any paid pilot touches real candidate data.
  • We don't have SOC 2 or ISO certification — we're a two-person team, and we'd rather say that plainly than imply otherwise. What we're building toward before real candidate data is involved: encryption in transit and at rest, a data processing agreement on request, deletion of your data on request, and a commitment never to use your data to train a model shared with other customers.
  • The company is established in Romania, in the EU, so EU data-protection law (the GDPR) applies to how we handle candidate data from the first customer, wherever your firm is based.
  • A data processing addendum will be available on request before your firm's first pilot uses real candidate data, and your firm's data will be kept separate from other firms'. Planned retention rule for when a pilot goes live: uploads never used in a job deleted after 72 hours; jobs that fail, are rejected, or are never paid deleted after 14 days; paid work kept for 365 days from when the job started. You'll be able to delete a job, or your whole account, at any time.
  • We never ask you to email or upload candidate documents through this page.

Frequently asked questions

JobAdder already bundles this as Smart Floats, and Loxo sells a Candidate Submittal Agent too — why do I need this?

They do, for JobAdder and Loxo customers. If you're on one of those plans, use what you have. This is built for Crelate shops and Bullhorn Starter/Core plans, whose published plans don't include a submittal feature.

Will it invent or misstate a candidate's actual experience?

A checker flags any sentence it can't match, any number that conflicts between the CV and notes, and any missing required field. It isn't perfect, which is why nothing leaves until a recruiter approves it.

We already have a template — why pay for this?

Your template saves the layout. It doesn't do the reading and deciding what to say. We'd like to time that with you on one real submittal, so you can judge whether 1 credit a submittal is worth it.

Can it match our specific client's submittal format and tone?

Yes, per job. Upload a client format or tone document (a sample submittal, or a few lines of style rules) with your CV, notes and requisition, or describe the format and tone in the job notes, and the draft follows it. If you give neither, the draft uses a standard neutral format. Saving a format once per client, so every recruiter at your firm shares it without re-uploading, is on the roadmap (“coming”), not live today. The preview above uses one plain format for every sample; it doesn't show switching between client formats.

I just paste it into ChatGPT — why would I pay for this?

That works for one recruiter. This keeps one set of client formats for the whole team, shows where every line came from, flags conflicts, and keeps candidate CVs out of personal chatbot accounts.

Does this replace Crelate or Bullhorn?

No. It works alongside the ATS you already have — it does not replace it.

We're on JobAdder or Bullhorn Pro — should we still look at this?

Probably not. Those plans (and Bullhorn Max) already include a native feature for this: Smart Floats or Amplify. ClearSubmittal is built for shops that don't have one.
